Late Friday night, two people in Aasiaat were attacked by a man with a knife. The police received the report at 05.39 on Saturday night.
A 33-year-old man was later arrested for the stabbing.
This is stated by the head of the Greenland Police, Poul Kreutzmann.
The 33-year-old man is due to appear in the district court today, where he is charged with attempted manslaughter with the aim of being detained.
The chief of police says that the two people who were attacked are doing fine, considering the circumstances.
Peaceful demonstrations
Apart from that, it has been a quiet 24 hours. On Saturday, there were demonstrations in many cities, where people took to the streets to show their feelings towards the United States.
- Everything has taken place quietly and calmly, as the police expected and instructed, says Poul Kreutzmann.
The police estimate from photos that there were more than 4,000 people at the demonstration in Nuuk.
