Usha Vance, wife of US Vice President JD Vance, was supposed to be in the audience, but canceled her visit. At the same time, KNQK considered inviting US Defense Minister Pete Hegseth, as there were plans to use the US military's helicopters for the transport of coachmen and dogs.

- We have assessed that it was necessary to involve the most responsible person if we succeed with the helicopters, says Mikkel Jeremiassen.

However, the sensational invitation to the Minister of Defense never arrived, but instead ended up with the Self-Government. Still, Mikkel Jeremiassen sees no reason to regret that the American sponsorship became a reality - even if it happened under massive political pressure on Greenland, at a time when the Commonwealth was faltering and Trump had plans to buy Greenland.

- They were the reason why the transport was successful, and I worked based on the decisions of the main board. Why should I regret it?, says Mikkel Jeremiassen.

Because without money from the Americans, there was a real risk that Avannaata Qimussersua would be cancelled.

- Without the consulate's help, Avannaata Qimussersua could either have been canceled or held on a much smaller scale, he says.
