- I'm having trouble sleeping at the moment. I'm afraid they're going to blow us up. It's really scary because I'm alone.

This is what Jacobina Rødbjerg says, who has arrived at Amisut in Nuuk well in time for the demonstration, which begins at 1:00 p.m.

- I want to participate today, because I wasn't there last year. And we are here because Kalaallit Nunaat Kalaallit pigaat - It's ours, she says.

Jacobina Rødbjerg is far from the only one who has already turned up for the demonstration. People are flocking.

Jacobina Rødbjerg is afraid of the times because of Trump's aggressive rhetoric.

In addition to the demonstration in Nuuk, Greenlanders are also taking to the streets across the country. Demonstrations are planned in Qaqortoq, Aasiaat, Sisimiut and Ilulissat against the United States and President Trump's desire to gain control over Greenland.

- I believe that if the United States buys us, we will be wiped out as a people. It is for our descendants that I am here.

"It's an incredibly difficult time," she says, shedding tears.

Jens Salik and Laila are at the demonstration because they disagree with Donald Trump.

- You are people like everyone else, on an equal footing with the world's population, says Jens Salik and continues:

- We do not agree with him. We were nervous before the meeting in the US, but have calmed down after meetings - also with members of Congress.

Jens Salik and Laila have also attended the demonstration.

On Wednesday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greenland, Vivian Motzfeldt (S), and Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen (Moderates) met with the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, and Vice President J.D. Vance.
