Remember to set your clocks: Daylight Saving Time hits Greenland this weekend

It's time to wave goodbye to an hour of sleep at night, but hello to brighter evenings. On Saturday night, Greenland switches to daylight saving time, and the clocks must be set forward one hour.

The summer time change in Greenland means brighter evenings and an extra hour to enjoy the long day – a quiet reminder of the changing seasons in the Arctic.

If you have plans for Saturday night, you should pay extra attention to the clock face.

When the clock strikes 23:00 on Saturday, March 28, we jump straight into Sunday. The clocks must be set forward one hour to 00:00.

This means that we change the time zone from UTC -2 to UTC -1.

Exceptions in the north and east

Although most of the country follows the new time, there are, as usual, important exceptions. Citizens in Danmarkshavn and at Pituffik Space Base should not touch their clocks, as these areas are subject to special rules in the Government's Executive Order.

Daylight saving time is in effect until the last Sunday in October, when the clocks are set back one hour.
