On Thursday afternoon, the consulate opened its new premises to invited guests and held a reception. Among the guests were former Naalakkersuisoq for Foreign Affairs and now a member of Inatsisartut for Demokraatit, Vivian Motzfeldt and her party colleague Napaartoq Petrussen.
Representatives from the business community, missions and civil servants also attended the reception. No representatives from Naalakkersuisut attended. Around 100 out of the 300 invited people chose to stop by when the consulate opened its doors.
The same day, 500 citizens chose to take to the streets to demonstrate to show their dissatisfaction with the Americans.
