Soren Mortensen has, together with local enthusiasts and companies, been behind the establishment by Qaqortoq South Park – a brand new activity park for children, young people and adults. The park features skateboard ramps, a basketball court, a climbing area, and an area for play and movement.

The project sprung from a Messenger group among the city's youth, where they shared tricks and dreamed of a skate park.

The idea grew and Søren Mortensen drew up a proposal. Soon after, the association became Qaqortoq South Park founded. Together with local contractors and companies is the dream now come true.

The park is supported by, among others, 60° North Greenland, KJ Greenland, RAL, HK, Hotel Qaqortoq, Sermeq Helicopters, Inuplan, Masanti, Syd Greenlandsk El, Stark, Permagreen and Kunguaq.

The park in Qaqortoq is an example of how local initiatives and cooperation can turn a sketch and an idea into a living community space.
