Air Greenland financial statements: One of the most challenging years

The Air Greenland Group realized a pre-tax profit of DKK 3.3 million in 2025, the company announced. This is significantly lower than in 2024, when the profit was DKK 60.8 million before tax.

- Towards the end of the year, the weather situation normalized and production was adjusted, creating a more stable operation. The result is below our original target, but is significantly better than expected at the half-year, says CEO Jacob Nitter Sørensen.

On Friday afternoon, self-governing Air Greenland published details of the company's financial statements for 2025, without publishing the annual report itself.

The company writes that 2025 was one of the most challenging years for Air Greenland's operations in many years.

- Unusually bad weather in large parts of the country and start-up problems at the new international airport in Nuuk led to periods of delays and cancellations of departures, which affected both customers, employees and the year's overall financial result, writes Air Greenland.

According to Air Greenland, weather-related flight cancellations increased costs significantly, and additional seat capacity, which was introduced in the spring, proved difficult to fully utilize, resulting in additional costs. The capacity was adjusted in the autumn.

The result of 3.3 million DKK before tax was lower than expected and below the level from previous years. In 2024, the company had a result of 60.8 million DKK before tax.

Air Greenland expects a result before tax of 60–70 million DKK in 2026.
