Naalakkersuisut will increase the quota after new research results

After years studies, researchers have concluded that the capture of polar bears in East Greenland is sustainable and can even be increased.

It seems to benefit the prisoners next year.

Naalakkersuisut wants to increase the quota in the east to 66 bears per year according to the recommendation of the researchers. That is an increase of 6 bears. It shows material about the quotas that Naalakkersuisut has had in consultation.

The quota could actually be increased to 83 bears, but that would require regular monitoring of the population, and there are no funds for that at the moment.
