Søren Andersen, Major General and Commander of Arctic Command, was at Pituffik Space Base last week in connection with the base's holding of Greenlandic Heritage Week. This is what Arctic Command writes on its Facebook page.

It is an annual event in April that celebrates local Inuit culture, tradition and community.

This year, among other things, an egg hunt was held for children, while there was a dog sled race for the more adult part of the population.

The Major General came to Pituffik in a Challenger plane, which was later open to the public, and a presentation was given on Arctic Basic Training.
