The Greenland Police have received a report of an indecent assault committed against a child between 10-15 years of age.
The child, who lives in Maniitsoq, had received a photo of genitals on Thursday, sent via the social media Snapchat.
- We are investigating the case as an indecent assault, says Chief of Police Aputsiaq Hansen to Sermitsiaq.
He urges parents to be aware of their children's activities on the internet and especially on social media.
- Unfortunately, there can be boundless adults. And sometimes these can be difficult to investigate, he says.
Attempted money laundering
The police were also out at the airport in Nuuk on Thursday afternoon.
Here, a person has been detained and charged with attempted money laundering.
- The person's suitcase had a suspicious amount of money in it. Customs officers at the airport discovered the contents and the police were informed, the duty officer said.
Aputsiaq Hansen said the person has been charged but has been released.
