The tour offers large concerts as well as visits to radio stations and schools, where Nanook will share both their music and stories about Greenland. Interest in the Greenlandic band is great in Japan, but the band experiences that there is also interest in the Greenlandic culture, people and nature.

- It is very important for us in Nanook to show our beautiful country and convey the culture we come from. That part has always meant a lot to us. We are even more proud that we can travel around the world and sing in our own language, says Frederik Elsner.

Always Greenlandic songs

Nanook will hold a concert in Tokyo, Japan in two installments. It will be February 25 and 26 in 2026.

- It is a special milestone for Nanook to stand on Japanese stages as a band that sings exclusively in Greenlandic. Nevertheless, the music is met with curiosity, openness and deep respect from the audience.

- We experience enormous respect for people and culture in Greenland. That makes this journey even more meaningful for us, says Frederik Elsner.

Frederik Elsner states that Nanook is looking forward to the long journey and to giving the Japanese audience a strong and genuine experience, where music becomes the bridge between two worlds.

Nanook has just been on a Danish tour, where the band played 16 concerts in 12 days. Nanook previously held a concert in Japan in 2015.
