The band SIGU is not a new name in the music world and has, among other things, been nominated for the Nordic Council's music prize in 2023.

Through metaphorical and deep lyrics take the listener through 11 tracks, which “Qivittorsuit”, “Qaammat Nuisoq” and “Paarinnga”.

- The songs mean a lot to me. They really have helped and supported me in my difficult and challenging times, he says.

The band consists of eight band members, including Johannes himself, Miké Thomsen, Paaliit Mølgaard Rasmussen and Kristoffer Jul Reenberg. Other musical guests are HH Suersaq, Jens Kleist and Louise Nipper and many others more.

The new tracks touch on music genres such as modern funk, indie disco and rock.

- You can hear that it is 'SIGU' style, but I have had a great deal of musical freedom this time to create the new numbers, also in the lyrics, says Johannes Sigurdsen.

The album will be released on several streaming services, such as Spotify and Apple Music.
