On Maundy Thursday, the world premiere of the Danish film "Welcome to the Moon" will be held in Katuaq, Nuuk.
The film is Oscar-nominated director Aske Bang's feature film debut, and the director has chosen to hold the premiere of the film in Nuuk to show sympathy:
"I have chosen to hold the world premiere in Greenland to show my sympathy for the Greenlandic people, who have been threatened by the world's most powerful man for a long time."
"Greenland people need to relax and get away from the many threats the country has been exposed to. We are coming to spread joy, laughter & good vibes," says Aske Bang in a press release.
Welcome to the Moon is about film director Bo, who is invited to his friend Martin's bachelor party on the remote island of Møn. Bo carries a heavy secret that threatens to destroy their friendship, and over the weekend strange things start to happen.
