The Israeli air force has launched a new wave of attacks on the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Tuesday.

The Israeli military said in a statement, AFP news agency reports.

The building of Iran's Assembly of Experts, which is tasked with appointing the next religious leader, has been bombed in Israeli and American attacks.

This is according to local media, showing pictures of the damaged building in the city of Qom, a little south of the capital, according to AFP.

The US and Israel attacked Iran on Saturday, and it was later confirmed that the supreme Iranian leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, had been killed.

Tuesday is the fourth day in a row of Israeli and American attacks on Iran. According to the military, the attack is the ninth wave of attacks on the capital.

- The air force has now launched a large-scale wave of attacks targeting the Iranian terrorist regime's infrastructure in Tehran, the military said in a statement, according to the news agency.

According to Reuters, the Israeli military has ordered Iranian civilians to evacuate several areas near Tehran, including an industrial area and Payam Airport near Tehran.

The military warns of an imminent attack.

Iranian media also write, according to the news agency, that Mehrabad Airport in the capital and the Hakimieh area in eastern Tehran have been hit by attacks.

The extent of damage from Tuesday's attack is still unknown.

Earlier in the day, Iranian state media, citing the Red Crescent, said the death toll from the US and Israeli attacks in Iran had risen to 787.

This was reported by Reuters.

The Red Crescent is a sister organization of the Red Cross.

Since the US and Israel attacked Iran, a number of countries in the Middle East have been hit by Iranian retaliatory attacks. Militias allied with Iran have also carried out attacks.
