Uncertainty about US-Iran negotiations

Esmaeil Baqaei, a spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, said on Monday that the country has no plans yet for any future negotiations with the United States. Baqaei said that Iran does not believe the United States has taken the process "seriously."

It was still unclear late Monday afternoon whether the US and Iran would resume talks to end their war.

The US announced that the US negotiating team would arrive in Pakistan, which is mediating the talks, late Monday.

Iran had not yet committed to coming to Pakistan by late Monday afternoon.

Iran accused the US on Sunday of violating the ceasefire after the US seized an Iranian ship that US President Donald Trump said was trying to break the US blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Tuesday is the last day of the two-week ceasefire. It came into effect on April 7.
