Danny Jung, national coach of the A-women's national team, has secured an international trip for the women to the Faroe Islands, where the team will play a number of matches in August as part of the continued development of the national team.

The trip will take place from 10-17 August and follows on from this summer's Greenland Championships – Nunatsinni Pissartangorniunneq (NP). This gives players from all over the country the opportunity to play their part in the national team squad.

The initiative is part of the continued building of the women's national team, where Danny Jung has been a central figure in the work of gathering and developing the squad.

The chairman of KAK, Kenneth Kleist, emphasizes the importance of the effort:

- It has long been a great desire for us to create a strong foundation for the women's national team in Greenland. Now we are really starting to see it come true – and this is largely due to the great and targeted work that Danny has put into the team, says Kenneth Kleist in a press release issued by KAK.

Danny Jung is also looking forward to the gathering after the summer championships:

- I am looking forward to seeing the players during and after the summer championships. I expect that they will turn up in good shape and ready to represent Greenland in the best way, says the national coach.

The trip to the Faroe Islands is part of the work to strengthen women's football in Greenland ahead of upcoming international tournaments. Here, next year's Island Games is a central goal, where the aim is to be able to compete for medals.

For the players, the trip will be an important opportunity to gain international experience and further raise the level of national team work.
