On Friday afternoon, Inuit Ataqatigiit will reveal their candidates for the parliamentary elections.
The party's candidates will carry on the legacy of Aaja Chemnitz, who has been elected to the Parliament three times for the party since 2015.
Among IA's candidates is the chairman of the Foreign and Security Policy Committee in Inatsisartut, Pipaluk Lynge.
- It is a great responsibility that the future member of parliament will take on. The pressure from the US has not stopped, and I feel that I can help make a difference and contribute to lifting the work, says Pipaluk Lynge.
Pipaluk Lynge has made a mark on several occasions. Most recently in connection with the diplomatic crisis with the USA, where the politician fought for the Inatsisartut committee to be informed at the same time as the Foreign Policy Committee in the Folketing about the situation.
In addition, Nivi Rosing is also running. She is also currently a member of Inatsisartut.
Will leave Inatsisartut
Both Nivi Rosing and Pipaluk Lynge say that they will leave Inatsisartut if they are elected to the Folketing:
- I see Inatsisartut working as a full-time job, because we work all year round, almost without holidays. And that's how it is with the Folketing too, that's why I can't sit in two places, says Pipaluk Lynge.
The same tone is heard from Nivi Rosing:
- I see Inatsisartut working as a full-time job, the same with the Folketing. That's why I'll take a leave of absence if I'm elected, she says.
Lund and Fontain also running
In addition, Kalistat Lund and Aqqalukkuluk Fontain are also running for the IA election.
Party chairman Múte B. Egede says that the upcoming election will be a historically important election because the whole world is looking towards the Arctic.
- If we use the opportunities that are now, they will benefit Greenland.
- We should not be number two in the realm, we should all be number one, says Múte B. Egede, who wants more equality in relation to, among other things, the health sector.
According to the party chairman, the party will reveal more candidates next week.
