For three years, Anne Nivíka Grødem has been at the helm of Visit Greenland. She is now looking for new challenges, the chairwoman of the board of Visit Greenland Anette Lings said in a press release.
The board will now start looking for a new CEO “with a view to ensuring stable and long-term management”, and until the new CEO is found, Linda Kleist will take over as acting CEO during the transition period. She is currently employed by Visit Greenland as Head of Destination Development & Cruise.
Praise to Anne Nivíka Grødem
In connection with the termination, the Board thanks Anne Nivíka Grødem for her efforts, where she has "left a clear and lasting mark - both in the internal development and in the role that Visit Greenland plays in the development of tourism - internationally as well as nationally".
- Anne Nivíka has led a consolidation of the organization in Greenland, which has strengthened the national identity and created a clearer common direction. She has been a unifying driving force in a major change process, where she has both strengthened the cohesion of the organization and raised the foundation for operations, are the words of praise from the Board, who wish her every success in the future.
Anne Nivíka Grødem started as Vice Chairman of the Board five years ago and was appointed Director in 2022.
The interim manager
About Linda Kleist, who will be taking on the role of manager during a transitional period, it is stated that she has been employed by Visit Greenland for three years and has both a tourism and management education.
- She also has experience as a destination manager and, as acting director, will ensure continuity in the organization's work and progress in the ongoing efforts, while the process to find a permanent and long-term solution is carried out, the press release concludes.
